COSCO SHIPPING

China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Limited (COSCO SHIPPING) was founded on February 18, 2016 as a result of the merger between China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO) and China Shipping (Group) Company (China Shipping). Guided by the strategy of building a maritime power and the Belt and Road Initiative, COSCO SHIPPING focuses on four strategic dimensions, which are “scale growth, profitability, anti-cyclical capability and building a global company” and highlights the “6+1” industrial clusters layout. The 6 industrial clusters include shipping, logistics, finance, equipment manufacturing, shipping services and social services. The “1” means “Internet Plus” business based on business model innovation. This layout will help facilitate the integration of shipping factors and build a world-class logistics service and supply chain service provider.

Through the restructuring, COSCO SHIPPING has ranked No. 1 in the world in terms of total fleet (100.71 million DWT/1,296 vessels), dry bulk fleet (38.55 million DWT/425 vessels), tanker fleet (23.65 million DWT/185 vessels), specialized and general cargo fleet (4.13 million DWT/151 vessels), container terminal throughput (100 million TEU) and seafarer management (47,000 seafarers). It has also been a global leader in container leasing, container fleet, bunker supply, shipping agency, and manufacturing of offshore engineering equipment.

So far, COSCO SHIPPING has expanded its ocean routes to more than 1,500 ports in over 160 countries and regions around the world, and set up 691 overseas companies in over 50 countries and territories in 10 major regions worldwide.
