‘Germany – Land of Ideas’

Germany – Land of Ideas’ is a joint nation-branding initiative by Germany’s federal government and German business, whose goal is to communicate a contemporary image of Germany. Marketing für Deutschland GmbH is the company implementing the initiative’s projects.

One of the major projects is the event series ‘Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together’. Led by Germany’s Foreign Office, and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institute and the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business, the business, cultural and research communities of the two countries meet to discuss the overriding issue of sustainable urbanisation. From 2007 to 2010, the event series will visit six Chinese metropolises. After Nanjing and Chongqing, the next stop will be Canton this autumn, Marketing für Deutschland GmbH will integrate business partners in the programme presenting impulses related to environmental and energy technology.
