LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 8.8 billion in 2011 and around 16,800 employees in 30 countries (as of May 2012). Listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the company is represented at 49 production sites worldwide and operates in all important global markets. The core business of LANXESS is the development, manufacturing and marketing of plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals. In addition, it supports its customers in developing and implementing made-to-measure system solutions. In these areas, LANXESS has core expertise in the form of chemical and application-related know-how, flexible asset management and customer proximity.

LANXESS is treading the path that is inherent in its name: Combined from the French verb “lancer” meaning to thrust forward and the English noun “success”, LANXESS represents the determined will to achieve and the readiness to embrace continual change. LANXESS in China

The Greater China market has developed into LANXESS's strongest in Asia, and is considered to have the world's largest growth potential in the chemical industry. All 13 business units are represent at sites in Shanghai (headquarters), Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Wuxi, Qingdao, Nantong, Tongling and Liyang, with around 1,100 employees (as of May 2012). LANXESS’s Greater China sales increased in 2011 year-on-year by 24 percent to EUR 992 million, representing 11.3 percent of Group sales.
