Shipping as a tradition with a driving relationship to China. Nordcapital is one of Germany‘s leading independent investment houses, underwriting shares in shipping, private equity and real estate funds. As of today over 28,000 investors are participating in Nordcapital funds. (Equity fund: € 1.6 billion, investment volume: € 4.0 billion). Members of the board are Erck Rickmers (Chairman), Günther Casjens (CEO) and Winfried Gathmann (CFO). Since 1998 Nordcapital‘s subsidiary, E.R. Schiffahrt, has been responsible for the management of the company‘s shipping investments. The E.R. Schiffahrt fleet currently numbers 76 container vessels (340,000 TEU) in service and under construction. Among its closest partners is COSCO. Eight post-panamax vessels will be chartered for 10 years to China‘s leading liner company. The relationship with China can be traced back to the 19th century. In 1870, the entire Rickmers fleet was engaged in trading services to the Far East. Today, five generations later, the Rickmers‘ family continues this tradition of shipping, trade and friendship between the companies and countries.
