Xinhua News Agency, founded in 1931, is China’s national news agency and a global media group.

Xinhua has set up a global news and information gathering network, with its headquarter in Beijing, 33 domestic branches in China and 180 overseas branches.
Xinhua provides its worldwide subscribers with news and financial information in 12 languages. Its multimedia database is the largest multi-language databank in China's media industry. Xinhua publishes more than 20 newspapers and magazines, with the combined best single issue circulation record topping 10 million. Xinhua has a TV station CNC in Chinese and English language. Xinhuanet.com is China’s important central news service-oriented website and one of the most influential news portals in the world.

Under the leadership of President Cai Mingzhao, Xinhua launched “Xinhua Silk Road Information Services” in 2015, aiming to provide a platform for commodity trade and investment cooperation among governments, companies and institutions in countries along the “Belt and Road”.
