“Hamburg Summit: China Meets Europe" 2006
The second edition of the ”Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe”, once again hosted by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, was held from September 13 to 15, 2006. This top-level economic event brought together international leaders focussing on the Sino-European relationship for the discussion of topics of mutual interests in an inspiring atmosphere.
Highlight of the conference was the presence of Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister of the P.R. China, at the official opening dinner of the “Hamburg Summit”. He stressed the importance of this event in maintaining and fostering the ongoing dialog between China and Europe.
The three days' conference has taken place in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, known for its favourable business and investment climate. As one of the leading import / export centres in Europe, Hamburg can be proud of its long-standing relationship with China, dating back to the early 19th century. Therefore, it is also the European city with the highest number of Chinese companies (400) and has become the preferred gateway for Chinese investors penetrating the European market. Please download our Documentation Brochure2006 for further information about the conference and its panel discussions.
